The Grummans Century 11B autopilot is a simple single axis (horizontal) autopilot - basically, its a "wings leveller".
It does NOT hold altitude or pitch attitude. Elevator and elevator trim ALWAYS remain manually controlled by the pilot.
It does incorporate heading hold and heading turn functions.
Select AP ON to hold existing HDG.
Select ROLL L or R to establish bank angle, then return ROLL to centre detent to roll out to wings level again.
Select HDG ON and aircraft will turn to HDG bug on DG. This is most suitable function for enroute course corrections.
