I have had the fortune of being a member of Burdekin Aero Club and really enjoyed the friendly and easy-going nature of the clubs members for about 5 years now. Whilst the club is based in the Burdekin area (Ayr-HomeHill with the strip near Brandon), a lot of others are from Townsville like me. The Gruman Tiger RTY is an absolute delight to fly. With its fixed pitch prop and 180-horse engine, it gives a very reliable 125 knots which is great for cross-country. Interesting flights Ive made in it include up the western side of Cape York to Thursday Island and back down the eastern side. Also a trip to Charleville. The picture is of myself flying RTY from Charleville to Ayr 6500 after completing a contract computer job there.
I recommend this club and the plane to anyone. Best regards to the club, and congratulations getting the site up and running.
