We flew to Cairns – to attend a post-graduate education weekend.
As we were going to stay with Auntie Maddie in Hambleton, we elected to take our Siamese cat, Tanya. We put her in a cardboard box, tied it up with string, and plonked her on the back seat. By the time we hit Giru, she was making a considerable amount of Siamese caterwauling, accompanied by much scratching.
By Townsville, she had demolished our carefully prepared box and, after a couple of snarls, growls and glares, was on the back seat, front paws on the windowsill, interestedly (and quietly) watching the ground pass beneath us. She spent the rest of the trip happily engaged in watching, bathing and napping, mostly on my co-pilot’s lap. We ditched the box in Cairns. Probably very illegal!
